cherry hood

Last year Cherry Hood retreated from Sydney to live in the bush near Goulburn after a hectic few years of solo exhibitions in Australia and overseas.

Her overseas shows included the following:

DEITCH PROJECT in New York - 2004
VARNISH GALLERY in San Francisco - 2005
LEHMAN LESKIW in Toronto, Canada –
DIANNE FARRIS GALLERY in Vancouver –
GALERIE SCHEIDLER in Zurich

Hood continues to paint her signature composite “human” portraits and exhibits
regularly in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland but, occasionally she indulges
her love and interest in animals, especially dogs, to make a portrait like Daisy.
The painting of Daisy is the prototype portrait Hood made for her show in New York.
Daisy is the pit bull terrier who belonged to a child character in the famous
J T LeRoy book HAROLD’S END which Hood illustrated in 2004.
